My name is Eliot Siegel and I have been a professional Wedding and Portrait photographer for 25 years. I have shot for magazines such as Vogue Brides, You and Your Wedding, New York Bride, California Brides, British and Italian Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, Company, She, Cosmopolitan, GQ, Esquire and FHM. I have had the pleasure to photograph Angelina Jolie, Charles Dance, Martin Amis, Kelly Brooke, Janice Dickenson, Gary Lineker, Kate Moss and Tess Daley. My client list includes Selfridges, Marks and Spencer, Debenhams, Principles, Burtons, Warehouse, Evans, Macys and Bloomingdales. I have lived and worked in London, New York, Milan, Madrid, Nice and Paris and I speak English, French, Italian and Spanish. The world is my oyster.I would like to describe the way I work and what I hope to achieve every time I photograph a Wedding. Photography has been my life choice, which means that everything I work on that is image related must be thought of as a work of art. As you can see from the photographs on this website, I believe that a tremendous event like a Wedding must be treated as a story of Love, and Art. I have a passion for a technique known as Polaroid Transfer, which I use not only for my Fine Art and Fashion work, but also for my Wedding Photography. It is a technique that involves a fair amount of experience, and is based on a film that has recently become obsolete. When Polaroid announced they would no longer make Type 669, I rushed out and bought up every last bit of I could find, therefore my stock will last me for at least several years before someone buys the formula and production starts again. To make a long story short, the polaroid film is exposed, the negative is separated from the positive and transfered to a new paper receptacle using a very hard ink block roller and a bit of old fashioned muscle. The resulting image takes on a new life of it's own, and if successful adds a certain amount of Romance and Drama to an image well chosen. The actual photographs of the wedding are taken with the newest and most remarkable professional digital camera on the market, and the process of Polaroid Transfer is applied afterwards at my studio, and only to the chosen photographs that I feel suit the technique.Unobtrusive and in constant search of Decisive Moments and Detail. These are a few key words that would describe my approach to shooting a Great Wedding. I want to capture Your Wedding using the skills I have accumulated from my love of the craft, and I want to do it by creating as little disturbance as possible; Your Wedding should be just that, Yours...completely. From the very beginning of the day, which may start with a surf with your best friends, some clay pigeon shooting, or a nice relaxed period of pre-wedding jitters as the Bride and her maidens are 'getting ready', I employ a style of photography known as Reportage, a word that is currently overused and often misunderstood in the Wedding Photographer community. I record the important moments between your friends and family as I see them. Certainly, there are times during the day that need the smallest hint of direction, such as the beautiful portraits I will take of the Bride and her Groom, but this is more about location and simply setting the tone. The photographs I try to create will show the honesty of a great love sealed by the celebration of the day.A successful photograph is a pie whose slices are divided into Light, Composition, Timing, attention to Detail and a large dollop of Emotional Depth. After the last dance of the evening, the last morcels of dessert have been devoured, the beginning of a beautiful marriage and your Wedding Album full of memories is what's left for you to enjoy and share with the people you love.
